Portreath Beach is a popular sandy cove enjoyed by both watersports enthusiasts and swimmers. On the north side of the beach, sheltered by the harbour wall, is a tidal pool where swimmers who want to avoid the swell can relax. "The Vortex" earns a reputation for the huge reef break coming off the harbour wall, famous among bodyboarders.
Porthtowan, a soft, sandy beach flanked by towering cliffs and offers spectacular surf, is widely regarded as one of the best family-friendly beaches in Cornwall.
Godrevy Beach is a sandy cove that, at low tide, merges with Gwithian Beach to form a massive golden crescent. The beach's prominent location within St Ives Bay provides spectacular views of St Ives one way and Godrevy Lighthouse the other. Seals can be seen from Hell's Mouth just a short drive from the beach.
